Get ready, because 2015 is going to be a banner year at Silver Lining!!!  (Can you tell I’m excited?!)  We have SO MANY big plans for the year.

We are getting an early start competing with a show at Poplar Place Farm on January 3rd.  Then I am taking a trailer full of horses and a bunch of girls to Athens, GA on Jan 19th for a clinic with Dom and Jimmie Schramm!  Jimmie is a sweet friend of mine from college and she has become such an amazing rider and trainer.  Her husband Dom is brilliant and I am so excited for some of my girls to get this opportunity!  Auditing this clinic is free, so if anyone would like to come with us (I believe school is out that weekend for MLK day) let me know.  We may have to take an extra car, but it’ll be worth the trip.

It is also time to get on the roll for our big trip to Lexington, KY April 23-26 for the Rolex KY Three Day Event.  Rolex is one of only 6 4* (the highest level in eventing) events in the world, and it is the ONLY 4* in North or South America.  That means the only other way to experience something like this is to go to Europe or Australia!  I go every year and have experienced it as a spectator, a jump judge, and a groom, and regardless of where you are standing it is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen.  Obviously this is an event that I am very passionate about and I am THRILLED to share this with our families this year!  I cannot encourage you enough to join us in this adventure.  Riders (and their families) of all ages will be entertained.  It is a tremendous learning experience for riders, a huge source of motivation, and just plain fun for everyone.  They have *hundreds* of shopping vendors (you could shop there for 2 days straight!), tons of food, Pony Club Games Championships (always fun to watch), and of course the greatest riders and horses in the world competing for the coveted Rolex title.  The Dressage phase is Thursday and Friday, Cross Country on Saturday, and Show Jumping on Sunday.  We will be leaving early Thursday morning to get to the Horse Park by lunch time and enjoy a full afternoon.  We will return to Auburn late Sunday night.  It is definitely worth a couple of your sick days at school/work.  General Admission tickets to get into the park do not sell out, but seating in the stadium for Show Jumping does sell out quickly.  Because of that, I will be ordering tickets by the 2nd week of January.  You can always decide later to go and add on, but you probably won’t get a SJ ticket if you wait.  If you think you will go, but aren’t sure, I suggest ordering a SJ ticket with us and if you end up not going it will be easy to sell.

Keep an eye on your email for updates and info on trips and shows!  We will be competing at H&G at the end of January, and Chattahoochee Hills Feb 7th.  It’s going to be a fun year!
